| SERVICES JON PERFORMS
Leadership Conferences.
Your staff could use some comfort and inspiration geared directly at
them. Allow them to be moved through the power of devotional music.
Special Concerts.
Make a change from the normal church schedule and set aside a Saturday
night or Sunday afternoon for some uplifting soul renewal.
Campus Retreats.
Start on Friday
night with a heart-melting mix of music and preaching. Break down the
walls of pride and skepticism and set a tone of humility and openness for
the rest of the retreat. End the weekend with thought-provoking and
inspiring music to prepare them for the trip back home.
Men’s Forums.
These are testy waters.
Men don’t gather around tables with ease. Assault them with some
Christian blues and good humor and get them laughing. Soften the hearts
so the Word will stick.
Singing devotionals.
Familiarize your congregation with the songs that have been forgotten.
Take extra time to learn the melodies and the stories behind some of the
greatest hymns and spirituals that move us. Learn new songs that have
some depth and meaning. Devote an entire Sunday’s service to music and
watch God work wonders.
Songleading workshops.
Work specifically with your singing leadership on basic songleading
techniques – conducting, vocal quality, song choice, etc. Day-long
workshops in which individuals will be coached on their conducting,
musical literacy, correct pitching and overall leadership.
